The Name

So who IS Famous Dave? Does he even exist? Why is it called ‘Famous Dave’s Tanner’? Is it just a marketing ploy? Well, to set the record straight – YES Famous Dave does exist. Famous Dave’s Tanner was founded over 10 years ago by a now 30-something chap called Dave. After too many years of seeing people cause dangerous and unnecessary damage to their skin through excessive use of unsafe UV-tanning beds, he spotted a requirement for a safe alternative - a quality natural-looking sunless tanning product, one which would stand out in a sea of sunbeds and orange tans. The original Moisture Tan product was born, and a new standard for the entire tanning industry was set.

 

What We Are

Famous Dave is an approachable, friendly, quirky, down to earth brand with no gimmicks. Our products really are as good as everyone says they are. We use only the best natural active ingredients, organic oils and antioxidants to create our products, and pride ourselves on giving our customers the best possible experience every time they use our products.

Our self tanning range consists of luxurious lotions, mousses, sprays and body scrubs, and we only release a new product when we feel it is better than any other tanning product on the market and has been tested exhaustively on our own team until everyone is in agreement. We are not a snobbish or stuck-up brand; we are a peoples’ brand. We do not invest millions in advertising campaigns - most of the success of our brand is simply down to word of mouth. We do not create orange ‘fake-looking’ tans – we are all about the natural look. Our products are not tested on animals, nor do we use animal-derived ingredients in our products.
