The Name
So who is Famous Dave, does he exist, and why is it called ‘Famous Dave’s Tanner’? To set the record straight – yes Famous Dave does exist. Famous Dave’s Tanner was originally founded over 10 years ago by a guy called Dave in North Carolina, USA. After too many years of seeing people cause dangerous and unnecessary damage to their skin through excessive use of unsafe UV-tanning beds, he spotted a requirement for a safe alternative - a quality natural-looking sunless tanning product, one which would stand out in a sea of sunbeds and orange tans. The original Moisture Tan lotion was born, and a new standard for the tanning industry was set. Following a successful UK launch in 2007, the demand for more products was quickly identified and the range has since more than tripled in size in the UK to include award-winning tanning mousse, gradual tanning lotion, firming self tan, firming gel and professional spray tan products and equipment for salons, all of which have been developed and manufactured at source here in the UK to meet customer demand and help reduce our impact on the environment as a natural brand.
